The Pick Is In

NFL Draft Review

The+Pick+Is+In

The 2021 NFL draft lived up to the hype surrounding it. From Roger Goodell embracing memes to teams trading up and of course the reaches. Overall I would give this whole draft a A- it definitely lived up to the expectation. Roger Goodell at the beginning of the draft was incurring the boo’s and he brought his chair from his basement from last year’s draft.

Steals
In the first round there were some steals in the draft. The biggest steal in my opinion is Christain Darrisaw drafted by the Vikings at pick 23. Another steal in the draft was when the Ravens got Rashod Bateman WR from Minnesota. Bateman was projected to go in the top 20 and the Ravens got him at 27.

Reaches
There was also some reach in the draft first at pick 17 when the Raiders drafted Alex Leatherwood Offensive lineman from Alabama. A second reach came from the Washington Football Team when they drafted Jamin Davis. He is a good Linebacker but he’s not a 1st round talent he is more of a 2nd and 3rd round talent. The Saints also had a reach as well when they Drafted Payton Turner. Who wasn’t even projected in the first round.

Quarterbacks
This year’s draft was also stacked at the QB position with Trever Lawance, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Justin Fields and Mac Jones. I hate to say this but the Chicago Bears got a steal trading up to 11 and getting Justin Fields. Justin Fields was a steal for DA BEARS. Fields was a top 5 pick. A lot of mocks people had Fields going at 3 to the 49ers, and the 49ers took Trey Lance at 3 which allowed Fields to fall. Fields is an amazing player; he has a winning mentality, and will play through injuries just to win. In the 2021 college playoffs Fields took a huge hit to his Ribs and a few plays later he came back in and led Ohio State to a victory to advance to the National Championship. Overall that pick was an A+, a great pick for the bears.

Packers
With the 29th pick in the 2021 NFL draft the Green Bay Packers selected Eric Stoke CB from Georgia. Eric Stokes was a good pick for the Packers. Stokes ran a 4.25 40 yard time. For people who don’t know that´s fast, he will fit in perfectly with Jaire, Savage and Amos as the Legion of Zoom for the secondary. Eric Stokes biggest weakness is his 50/50 ball. But otherwise Stokes is good at everything else. Stokes shut down Receivers like Claypool, Toney, and slowed down Smith, Ruggs and Waddle top receivers in this year’s draft and good receivers from the past drafts. Overall this was an amazing pick for the Packers. I would give this pick a B-, because he was ranked a high second round pick but he has amazing potential to be a number 1 corner.

The NFL draft lived up to the hype; sadly it got over shadow from the fake Aaron Rodgers news and Tim Tebow saying he wants to play TE for the Jags. Overall If I had to give this Draft as a whole a grade I will give it a A- because it was amazing from the reaches to the steals and all the trades.
