Marching band 2020

With Covid changing everything for everyone this marching season was especially sad and very difficult. Many of the band members were happy that they even got the chance to march.
Even with the regulations of having to stay six feet apart while wearing a mask when they were not playing was hard to follow, but they made it through.
As marching was hard the teachers also had a lot to do in terms of coming up with the steps and music. “The saddest thing that happened this year for me was not having a proper send off to our seniors like we would have last year” Mr. Opperman said. This was his first year of teaching marching band.

“It is very sad to have sent off the seniors the way we had to do it but there is still a chance that there might be a revitalization in April,” said Mr. Barnes.

Not everyone thinks like that. Junior Olivia Arkins said the complete opposite, stating that she would rather do a competition than finish the season. “I liked how we had the opportunity to learn and play the music,” Olivia said.
Macy said that she enjoyed the music and all the time they did have to play and practice because in the end of the day all the Marching band kids wanted to is something they all loved and enjoyed putting their time and effort into, which is just marching and learning to play the great music and the moves to them all.
